The Reason Japanese Superfoods Get Attention?
One reason that Japanese superfoods have got popular is many people around the world started eating Japanese food.
In 2013, Japanese food is on the list of the world’s intangible cultural heritages and no one can doubt it is attracting attention all over the world.
Of course, the listing on UNESCO is not the biggest reason. Actually, Japanese food started becoming popular in 1980s. In the U.S, the number of heart disease patients increased in 1960s and people begun to care about their healthy eating habits. McGovern Report released “Dietary guidelines” in 1977, which said indicated ideal energy intake ratio, that is 15 to 20 percent protein, 20 to 25 percent of fat, and 60 to 65 percent of carbohydrate. Japanese food, that is mainly used blueback fish, doesn’t contain less animal fat than Western food, and the ratio balance is almost the same as that of McGovern Report. The time to get better eating habit met the healthiness of Japanese food and the Japanese food boom attracted the world.
